ÇÖPLER GOLD MINE

Çöpler is a world-class epithermal gold-silver-copper deposit, located in east-central Turkey in the Erzincan Province. Discovered in 1999, Çöpler Mine poured first gold in 2010 and since, produced ca. 2Mozs gold in the past decade.

Çöpler Mine Company, Anagold, is 80/20 JV between Alacer Gold and Lidya. Çöpler is an open-pit mine that is producing gold from oxide ore via heap leach processing and from sulfide ore via pressure oxidation circuit (POX) respectively. The POX is unique in Turkey’s gold production and it is one of a handful POX operations worldwide.

Çöpler sits on a 5Mozs+ resource that will be produced in the coming several decades. Partners invested more than $1bn to date, making it one of the biggest investments in Turkish mining as well as in eastern Turkey.

Anagold is the biggest employer in the region and contributes to socio-economic development of the region with vocational training, social development fund financing entrepreneurial projects, scholarships, social programs for woman, children and elderly, infrastructure investments for health, education and sanitation.
